Job description

Softek Global Services provides both operations & strategic support to tribal 8(a) & commercial organizations. Our client we are supporting is a family of companies are comprised of multiple SBA Certified Native American Tribal 8(a) and multi-certified organizations focused on delivering Information Technology, Management Consulting, and General Construction solutions to the Federal Government along with the Commercial Sector. They are actively seeking a Security Technician based in Rockville, MD. This is a full time, onsite role. This position requires an active DoD Top Secret Clearance. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team supporting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission . The main responsibilities of the role include: • Provide preventative maintenance and service of the system and its parts, commissioning, and decommissioning equipment. • Install supplies and equipment. • Provide training on O&M security systems to NRC physical security staff. • Perform non-emergency and emergency repairs. • Perform special sensitive security projects and aid with security survey support. • Systems support will include but not limited to IP Video Surveillance systems, physical access control and intrusion detection systems. Operation and Maintenance
The employee shall be required to operate and maintain all the following systems but not limited to CCTV, PACS, and IDS. The specific operation and maintenance for each system shall be specified for each individual project.
Services include but are not limited to providing general maintenance on all integrated parts, commissioning and decommissioning equipment, providing, and installing equipment, and providing training of all systems.

CCTV
Milestone is the current video management system and will be the standard for NRC at this time. The employee will install fully functional and integrated equipment for new locations as determined by customer. The employee shall ensure all current equipment is properly maintained to operate as designed and repair or replace any faulty equipment.

PACS
The current NRC physical access control system is Hirsch IDENTIV. The employee shall install new equipment, when necessary, as instructed by the customer. The employee shall ensure all current equipment is properly maintained to operate, as designed. The employee shall repair any deficiencies found or reported.

IDS
The NRC currently has Bosch IDS deployed for all NRC facilities. Each Bosch panel communicates with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Protective Service (FPS) MegaCenters through both digital and analog means. The NRC uses a wide variety of intrusion sensors to include glass break, dual technology, passive infrared, and balanced magnetic switch (BMS).

The employee shall provide O&M of existing IDS, including inspections and certifications after initial installation. The employee shall install fully functional and integrated IDS for new locations as determined by the NRC and meet all UL requirements. All IDS shall report all conditions (alarms, troubles, tests, restores, openings, and closings, etc.) to the appropriate DHS /FPS MegaCenter.

The qualified candidate will have the following knowledge and experience: • The employee will be full time 40 hour per week. • The Security Technician must be on site Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., except federal holidays and emergency building closures. Hours of operation may be modified or extended by the project manager for emergencies or contingency operations. The security Technician may be requested to support emergency service calls. • The Security Technician will provide his own hand tools. • The Security Technician will have certifications or be able to show competency in the following systems and equipment; Bosch IDS, Milestone Video Management, and Velocity Access Control, and a wide variety of intrusion sensors to include but not limited to glass break sensor's, dual technology motion sensors, passive infrared sensors, and balanced magnetic switch's (BMS). • The Security Technician will be requested to assist with ordering all security equipment required for repairs or new security projects. • The Security Technician will prepare correspondence and communicate effectively, efficiently, and tactfully, both orally and in writing with a wide variety of individuals involved with Security Maintenance Operations Branch (SMOB) activities. • The Security Technician may be required to travel to provide training, technical support to the NRC regional offices. • The Security Technician is required to obtain a TS/Q Security Clearance and perform all duties as assigned.
