Responsibilities What You'll Do The Electrical Engineer will provide in-depth research and analysis of foreign systems in support of US Navy efforts to develop and validate weapon design, countermeasures, and tactics. Key Responsibilities Provide support for analysis and testing of electronic systems to include digital, analog, radio-frequency (RF), microcontroller, digital signal processing (DSP), digital forensics and various sensor components. Perform data extractions using both intrusive/non-intrusive methods on a wide variety of components. Perform forensically sound extractions and analysis of digital media using commercial tools and software. Perform RF measurements using a variety of equipment and methods. Support X-Ray/Computed Tomography (CT) Scans of various components Reverse engineer (RE) complex/multilayer printed circuit boards (PCBs) to support schematic creation. Support the generation of intelligence products by providing objective technical input in a clear and concise manor for consumption by non-technical audiences. Create schematics/block diagrams/wiring diagrams, research commercial electronic components, analyze circuit design and operation, and photograph/document findings. Operate, maintain, and calibrate various lab equipment. Participate in training events related to lab capabilities. May be required to travel in support of lab efforts Qualifications Education Associates Degree (desired) or High School Diploma with 3-years of experience in a similar position. Experience Minimum 3 years of Electrical Engineering experience and knowledge of general electronics and working in a laboratory environment conducting analysis of radio frequency (RF) systems using equipment identified in the position description Experience in software and/or hardware reverse engineering Experience with firmware/software Recent experience and proficiency with Ghidra Schematic generation using Altium, OrCAD, EAGLE, KiCAD, Diptrace or other similar programs/tools Circuit Simulation, measurement, automation using PSpice, LabVIEW or other similar programs/tools Experience in micro-miniature soldering Demonstrated understanding of reverse engineering workflow Demonstrated proficiency in effective communications (writing, speaking, briefing) Desired Experience Software Programming: C/C++, Python, PHP Software Disassembly: IDA Pro Familiarity with AVR devices and architecture Familiarity with ARM devices and architecture Familiarity with commercially available software defined radios (SDRs) Familiarity with commercially available debugging tools and software Digital Forensics: EnCASE, FTK, X-Ways, OSForensics, Autopsy CAD packages: SolidWorks, NX CompTIA certification: A+, Network+, Security+ Familiarity with various lab equipment (e.g., Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Impedance Analyzers, etc.) Security Clearance Top Secret with SCI eligibility Due to SAP requirements, a CI polygraph may be required for access to specific Information Technology (IT) systems or information We are committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace that values and supports the contributions of each individual.
