Staff Accountant - Towson, MD

About the Company and Staff Accountant Opportunity:

• CFS is working with a repeat client to find a Staff Accountant for a contract to hire opportunity. Successful candidates will have experience with financial reporting and a strong understanding of treasury functions
• Schedule: This position is fully onsite in Towson, MD to start. Opportunity or hybrid schedule after training
• Pay: $32-36/hour

Job Duties for the Staff Accountant:

• Collaborate with the finance team to support budgeting, financial planning, and audit processes
• Assist in the development and implementation of treasury policies and procedures
• Manage and monitor daily cash flow activities
• Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions
• Prepare and analyze financial reports
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by reconciling accounts and preparing necessary journal entries
• Management and oversight of the organization's investment portfolio and related reporting

Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/related field required
• 3+ years' accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Must have a COVID and flu vaccination
