Job description

Our client, a dedicated mental health-focused nonprofit committed to improving the well-being of individuals and communities throughout the DMV, is seeking a meticulous and driven Staff Treasury Accountant to join their team and contribute to their impactful work.

As a Treasury Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for treasury operations, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of their financial transactions, and maintaining the integrity of their financial records. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly within the nonprofit sector.

Treasury Staff Accountant Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Strong understanding of treasury functions and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to the mission of improving mental health within the community.

Treasury Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor daily cash flow activities, including cash positioning and forecasting.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to cash flow, investments, and liquidity.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of treasury policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to support budgeting, financial planning, and audit processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by reconciling accounts and preparing necessary journal entries.
  • Assist in the management of the organization's investment portfolio and related reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits and reviews.
