Job description

The Lead Carpenter will be responsible for high-end finish work in custom renovations and additions. They will also be responsible for oversite of labor and additional trades as needed.

Our projects range from kitchen and bath remodels to large-scale home renovations, with budgets ranging from $200K to $2M. Description

The Lead Carpenter/Working Superintendent will be responsible for

  • Lead and manage all on-site carpentry tasks for residential renovation projects, including framing, installation of millwork, cabinetry, and custom finishes.
  • Ensure that all work adheres to building codes, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the project manager, subcontractors, and design team to coordinate workflow and project timelines.
  • Supervise and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices, ensuring the highest level of craftsmanship and safety on-site.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and construction documents to execute precise work.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site, adhering to OSHA standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve construction issues as they arise, ensuring minimal delays and smooth project execution.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any on-site concerns or questions.
  • Work on both small renovations ($200K+) and large-scale projects up to $2M, which may span 6-12 months.

Profile

The Lead Carpenter/Working Superintendent will have the following skills.

  • 5+ years of experience in residential carpentry, with a proven track record of high-quality work on mid-to-high-end renovation projects.
  • Experience leading a team of carpenters and managing on-site workflow.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, best practices, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and craftsmanship.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Must have your own set of professional tools.
