Job description

The Quality Engineer (electronics and lighting) will develop and enhance products and manufacturing processes, oversee quality standards, and implement quality control systems. Reporting to the VP of Quality and Engineering, they will inspect materials, equipment, and outputs, and collaborate on manufacturing improvements and corrective actions.

My client specializes in innovative LED lighting solutions and retrofitting kits for converting fluorescent lights to LED, along with solar lighting products. Serving industrial and commercial markets, they are rapidly expanding into EV charging equipment, leveraging their expertise in electronics and circuit boards. With a diversified distributor and customer base, they are tapping into new markets while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers. They have two sites in the United States, with one based out of Andover, MA.

Description

The Quality Engineer (electronics / lighting) will:

• Develop and implement quality standards and control systems.
• Analyze warranty returns; collaborate with suppliers for improvements.
• Ensure compliance with UL, ETL, and regulatory requirements.
• Design and implement testing methods for products and processes.
• Manage calibration and maintenance of test and production equipment.
• Develop corrective and preventative actions.
• Handle customer complaints related to product quality.
• Enhance manufacturing processes by researching and testing methods.
• Provide technical support for all products.
• In a small company environment, tasks include QMS implementation, interacting with operations and production, ensuring quality steps are followed, analyzing product returns, and adapting to changing needs.

Profile

• Minimum 2 years' experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, or Design Engineering.
• Preferable if candidate has 5 years of experience.
• Experience in Quality Processes, Production, and Testing of Electrical Products (Lighting preferred).
• Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills.
• Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
• Strong Project Management Skills.
• Understands quality systems and can implement and improve processes.
• Hands-on approach, no direct reports, interacts with various departments.
• Familiarity with ISO9001 guidelines is beneficial.
• Proactive, able to hit the ground running in a smaller company environment.
