Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity exists at Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) for an RF/Microwave engineer to join our engineering test lab within the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department as an RF Test Engineer. AMSD develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.
The successful candidate will be a member of a team of multi-disciplined engineers, designing test systems and performing on-wafer and fixtured testing of GaN and GaAs semiconductor devices and MMICs, for RF modules for radar applications, communications equipment and EW systems. This would be in active support of existing technologies in production as well as next generation products in development. This role requires a strong understanding of RF/Microwave electronics, test equipment, network analysis using the Keysight PNA-X, and Labview programming.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Perform RF/microwave/millimeter-wave measurements on GaAs and GaN devices, modules and MMICs (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits)
- Perform fixtured and on-wafer probe measurements
- Assemble RF/microwave/millimeter-wave test systems
- Use software to control test equipment and plot test results
- Support the MMIC and module design teams
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major with a minimum of 5 years experience in RF/Microwave Test.
- Experience with RF/Microwave test equipment such as Performance Network Analyzers (PNAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), Spectrum Analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Noise Figure Analyzers, Load-Pull systems etc
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience/coursework in one or more of the following: RF/microwave engineering, microwave systems, Analog, Digital Electronics, Circuit Design or Analysis, Electrical Components
- Experience with any of the following software: Python, Labview, Keysight ADS, HFSS, Cadence Virtuoso, MATLAB, CST, Mentor Graphics' Expedition, AutoCAD, TCAD, C++, Java, JMP
