Position Summary Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Data Manager to support the C3C/Kessel Run (KR) Division, which is within the USAF Digital Directorate and located at Hanscom AFB, MA supporting the Chief Data Officer Group (CDOG). The Data Modeling Technical Lead is a key member of the Chief Data Officer Group (CDOG) that collaborates cross-functionally to lead the agile rollout and maintenance of data modeling strategies, efforts, policies, practices, processes, conceptual, logical, and physical data models, and key performance indicators across the enterprise. Responsibilities Roles & Responsibilities Leading data modeling programs at Kessel Run Analyzing and recommending data requirements and specifications Installing, configuring, and maintaining data modeling software Analyzing and planning for anticipated changes in data modeling requirements Developing and administering data standards, policies and procedures Designing, normalizing, de-normalizing, developing, installing, and implementing databases Overseeing the development and maintenance of conceptual data model, logical data models, physical data models, reversed-engineered data models, semantically consistent data model, and database design for OLTP Online Transaction Processing is a type of data processing that consists of executing a number of transactions occurring concurrently, OLAP Online analytical processing (OLAP) is software technology you can use to analyze business data from different points of view. Organizations collect and store data from multiple data sources, such as websites, applications, smart meters, and internal systems Establishing Data Modeling best-practices, processes, standards, and methodology Leading and collaborating with leadership, application teams, data stewards, data modelers, and the Acquisition team for evaluating, selecting, and implementing data modeling tools Providing regular updates to the leadership, application leads, and cross-functional teams Coordinating with Data Governance team for data policies for data quality, data standards, data modeling, data contracts, data access, data security including cybersecurity, data archiving, and data retention Supporting the development and maintenance of data catalog, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories Staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data modeling Work with application architects, data teams, database administrators to improve data query performance, and database efficiency Qualifications Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Minimum Required Qualifications Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance Education: BA/BS Degree in a data-centric field (Economics, Computer Science, or other science field), Information Systems, Information Processing, or Engineering 8-10 years of data modeling experience for transactional, OLTP, OLAP, Business Intelligence, and Analytic Systems 4-6 years of data governance experience 6-8 years of experience in relational database; exposure in Graph and NoSQL databases Experience in Data Modeling Program deliverables, Executive level presentation, and Data Governance Experience in agile methodologies, CI/CD, data security, cybersecurity, data sharing and DevOps Solid experience with data modeling tools (Erwin/ER Studio) Familiarity with industry tools used to manage/implement data governance components (Alation, Colibra, Informatica, etc.) Strong knowledge of data management principles, inculding data quality, metadata management, data classification, and data stewardship Experience in driving change management intiatives to ensure the adoption of data modeling practices across the organization Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate direct and cross-domain teams Preferred Qualifications Government domain knowledge Additional Information Location: Hanscom Air Force Base, Bedford, MA Company Overview Odyssey Systems Consulting Group, is an innovative small business committed to providing world-class technical, management, and training support services to government and public sector clients.
