Coastal Orthopedic Associates has an opening for a Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy Assistant in Beverly, MA. We focus on quality relationships with our patient including one hour evaluations with 40 minute follow up treatments. We are technology driven with use of Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) and Telehealth to meet the needs of our patients when and where they need it. We are looking for an energetic Orthopedic/Sports Physical Therapist Assistant looking to join our growing team. You will provide physical therapy and athletic performance services to patients in our new physical therapy facility located on Conant Street in Beverly, MA. The ideal candidate is an evidence based and outcome driven therapist who is passionate about treating patients and helping they achieve their goals. Responsibilities:
Implement Plan of Treatment on a consistent schedule and adjust this schedule and plan according to patient progress. Utilize Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) for ongoing patient engagement outside of scheduled clinic appointments.
Evaluate mobility, strength and current level of patient function using objective measures and patient reported outcomes.
Training in Functional Movement Systems (FMS) Screen a plus. Will provide training and ongoing mentoring if not familiar with the FMS/SFMA system of movement.
Report patient progress to patient, primary physical therapist, patient caregivers and loved ones, orthopedic/podiatric providers and healthcare professionals involved in ongoing treatment/care of patients.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge through attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications, team meetings. Paid Medbridge subscription included to all members of therapy staff.
Assist other facility staff members as needed to provide care and create a clean, orderly and effective environment for athletic performance and physical therapy.
Qualifications for Physical Therapist Assistant
Proven record of matching patient needs to treatment plans and proven record of implementing these plans safely and effectively.
Strong experience administering a wide range of physical therapy techniques not limited to: manual therapy; applying physical agents; initiating outcome measures; therapeutic exercise, therapeutic activity; neuromuscular re-education.
Knowledge of responsible use of facility equipment, best practices for equipment use and preventative maintenance procedures. Facility includes Rogue Fitness; Sci-Fit; Y-Balance Test and other movement optimization equipment.
Experience with recommending assistive equipment to patients and establishing a home exercise prescription. Experience with implementing RTM a plus.
Experience working with youth sports, team sports and club sports is given additional emphasis.
A strong sense of empathy, a compassionate outlook on PT and the ability to motivate patients in a responsible, safe way.
We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience but will also accept CV of new graduates with a passion for Sports/Orthopedics and growing Athletic Performance (CSCS/CPT/CFSC in addition to PT designation).
Associates in Physical Therapy from an accredited physical therapy program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association
Current Physical Therapy Assistant license for Massachusetts
