The Translational Research group is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to support the AK-OTOF program and other gene therapy programs. In this role, you will work closely with a team of analytical and bioanalytical scientists to design and develop assays to characterize and evaluate in vitro functions of the vector-encoded transgene products and to understand the PK/PD profiles of gene therapy.
A successful candidate will be able to use the current available technologies and explore novel techniques/technologies as appropriate. The successful candidate will also be an active project team member and collaborate with the Research, Clinical, Quality and Regulatory departments, to ensure that all applicable bioanalytical test methods are appropriate for the program's development phase.
As a member of the Translational team, you must be able to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment, manage work priorities, and have the desire to succeed at the highest level.
Responsibilities
- Develop in vitro assays for AAV-based gene therapy programs
- Develop, optimize, and execute bioanalytical assays for preclinical and early phase clinical studies
- Partner with internal or external laboratories on assay transfer, assay bridging, qualification/validation, sample testing
- Handle, process, and prepare samples from in vitro and in vivo studies, including non-human primates
- Support internal bioanalytical lab operation
- Serve as Superuser for translational bioanalytical Benchling development and implementation
- Perform data analysis and author/ review method development and study reports
- Present data update in program and team meetings
- Assist Translational management to develop and manage project timelines and budgets
- PhD in scientific field with 1+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with assay development, AAV vector evaluation, and auditory research experiences strongly preferred.
- Scientific training and hands-on experience with various analytical and bioanalytical assays, including but not limited to cell-based potency assay, ELISA, MSD, qPCR, RT-qPCR, neutralizing antibody assays, western, ELISPOT, and DNA/RNA/protein extraction from animal tissues
- Experience in supporting nonclinical animal studies
- Experience in documenting experiments in electronic laboratory notebook systems (Benchling system preferred)
- Experience in working with CROs
- Experience writing, preparing, and reviewing regulated and non-regulated study reports.
- Strong organizational skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication.
- Advanced problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Travel may be required
