Controller
Location: Hybrid (2 days in-office, 3 days remote)

CFS has partnered with a nationally recognized nonprofit in the Boston area. Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to support their corporate finance operations. If you have a passion for financial leadership and a background in development, this hybrid role offers the perfect blend of flexibility and impact.

What You'll Do:

• Oversee the corporate accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and longevity.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to guide financial strategy and long-term planning.
• Manage the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Ensure seamless integration of corporate and development accounting processes, leveraging your experience in development finance.
• Lead audits and manage relationships with external auditors and financial institutions.
• Implement and improve internal controls to safeguard the organization's financial integrity.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on corporate finance and experience in the development side of affordable housing.
• Proven leadership skills with a track record of team development and long-term success.
• Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with GAAP and nonprofit regulations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
