Responsibilities
- Supervise kitchen team members to ensure adherence to portion sizes, recipes, quality standards, and department policies while maintaining the cleanliness and organization of stations, walk-ins, and freezers
- Maintain and operate kitchen equipment, ensuring all items are in full working order and food is prepared, stored, and labeled according to health and safety regulations
- Monitor and manage food cost within established parameters, overseeing proper breakdown, rotation, and storage of food to maintain freshness and quality
- Prepare food to specifications, utilizing kitchen equipment effectively, and perform opening, closing, and side work duties as per guidelines
- Attend kitchen meetings and training sessions, and rotate to other areas as needed while reporting punctually to scheduled events
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a line cook with p revious supervisory or lead line cook experience required
- Ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations
- Basic math skills with the ability to understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions
- Knowledge of basic culinary fundamentals of hot and cold foods
- Ability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers weighing up to 50 pounds
- Standing and walking for entire length of shift
