Job description

The Data Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day management and optimization of the organization's data processes and reporting systems. This role ensures the smooth operation of critical data workflows, maintains database integrity, and automates reporting to support business functions. Coordinating with the Deputy CIO (DCIO) and the team, the Data Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring high-quality data analysis, reporting, and system operations, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency. This role bridges the gap between the organization's technical infrastructure and its business operations, handling custom requests from internal and external stakeholders, and delivering data-driven solutions. Reporting directly to the DCIO, the Data Operations Manager will work closely with the CIO & DCIO to ensure alignment between initiatives and the organization's strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily data processes, ensuring the timely generation of reports and the seamless execution of workflows.

  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and performance of data systems.

  • Lead efforts to maintain, enhance, and optimize databases that support enterprise-wide operations.

  • Implement automation processes to improve data management efficiency.

  • Manage and resolve escalated data-related issues from internal teams and external clients.

  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to develop custom data solutions that meet specific business needs.

  • Oversee the development and delivery of regular and ad hoc reports, ensuring they meet the requirements of

    internal and external stakeholders.

  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve business processes.

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure the alignment of data processes with business goals.

  • Maintain strong relationships with external vendors and partners to ensure data operations meet service level

    agreements (SLAs).

  • Support the leadership, mentorship, and development of data professionals. to support the delivery of operational

    excellence.

  • Foster a collaborative, data-driven culture within the team.

  • Coordinate to implement changes, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements that will improve the efficiency of data operations.

    Qualifications

  • Experience with database systems, automation tools, and reporting platforms is a plus.

  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).

  • Basic understanding of data analysis and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI) preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving data-related issues.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

  • Experience leading or mentoring a team is required.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing business priorities.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes as needed.

    Minimum Entrance Requirements

    Applicants must have at least (A) five (5) years of experience in data management, reporting, or operations. (B) at least two (2) years must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
