Job Title: Estimator - Commercial Construction

Estimator Overview:

The Estimator will play a pivotal role in our project acquisition process, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This position demands a professional with a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of construction processes, and the ability to communicate effectively within our organizational values. The successful candidate will be integral in supporting our growth by providing reliable estimates that reflect both our commitment to quality and our strategic goals.

Estimator Responsibilities:


  • Cost Estimation: Develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant expenses.
  • Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed bid proposals and competitive offers, ensuring all project requirements and specifications are addressed.
  • Analysis: Analyze project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and verify cost assumptions.
  • Market Research: Conduct research to stay informed about current market trends, material costs, and subcontractor pricing to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed cost reports and estimates to senior management and stakeholders, providing clear explanations and justifications for proposed costs.
  • Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with internal team members and external partners, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Estimator Qualifications:


  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for commercial construction projects, demonstrating proficiency in cost analysis and bid preparation.
  • Education: A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is advantageous but not required.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with a deep understanding of construction processes and cost factors. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
  • Mindset: A proactive and ambitious approach, with a commitment to aligning with and contributing to the company's values and culture.

Estimator Compensation:


  • Competitive annual salary range of $85,000 - $120,000, commensurate with experience.
