Job Title: In Home Therapist & Clinician; SAFE

Program/Department: IHT/ SAFE

Position Type: Exempt, Full-Time 40 hours/ week - Hybrid Position (remote and on-site)

Location: Boston

Reports to: Clinical Manager; Youth and Young Adult Services

The Institute for Health and Recovery (IHR) is a statewide service, research, policy, program development and capacity building agency. IHR designs its services based on an understanding of the impact of trauma. IHR's CARF accredited treatment programs provide holistic interventions for hard to reach and high-risk individuals and families. IHR's mission, since our founding in 1989, has been to develop and support a comprehensive continuum of care for families, individuals, youth, and pregnant and parenting people affected by alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, violence/trauma, mental health challenges and other health issues, while advancing principles of health equity and social justice. Our work is focused on addressing and eradicating inequities in our health care, economic, and justice systems, especially as they disproportionately affect women and people of color. We are committed to providing services and creating communities that mitigate the effects of substance use, mental illness, and trauma.

Summary Statement : The In-Home Therapist & Clinician for SAFE Project will support IHR's mission to develop and support a comprehensive continuum of care for families, individuals, youth, and pregnant and parenting women affected by alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, violence/trauma, mental health challenges and other health issues while advancing principles of health equity and social justice. This position will be part of the In-Home Therapy Team , serving children and families, and the SAFE project , serving adolescents with co-occurring substance use and mental health needs, and their families. This position would be serving clients in greater Boston area.

Essential Functions:
Provide home- and community-based outreach, engagement, and family treatment to families in the Greater Boston area, using CBHI's In-Home-Therapy Services approach. In some cases, the primary clients will be adolescents struggling with substance use and other behavioral health disorders.
Provide strength-based and trauma-informed outreach, engagement, case management, and behavioral health counseling utilizing evidence-based interventions, including Motivational Interviewing, A-CRA, and ACC in clients' homes and/or community location.
Conduct comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments and individualized treatment plans related to substance use/mental health, trauma, relapse prevention, recovery support and treatment retention.
Provide wrap-around services by helping families and clients identify and access community treatment, natural supports, and other resources.
As part of a treatment team, work in collaboration with the Therapeutic Training and Support Specialist to identify and address family strengths and needs.
Work closely in collaboration with referral source as well as other providers involved with the youth/family to coordinate and implement appropriate services.
Participate in training and professional development, including certification and/or proficiency in evidence-based models including A-CRA (become certified within 6 months of training), ACC, and Motivational Interviewing
Provide outreach to community organizations, schools, and other service providers to increase referrals to both IHT and SAFE programs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical electronic health records, billing records, and reporting as necessary.
Maintain a productivity minimum for billable client services (26 hrs/week).
Meet regularly with Supervisor for clinical and administrative supervision.
Communicate with IHR's main office in Watertown with cloud-based shared calendars, timesheets and check in with supervisors.
Attend team and agency staff meetings.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field, required.
Previous experience working with children, adolescents, and their families required.
Previous clinical experience in the field of addictions disorders, co-occurring mental health and trauma issues required.
Previous clinical experience either within the child welfare system or as a collateral provider.
Familiar with community-based resources in the Greater Boston area.
Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural groups.
Experience in home-based services, community outreach and case management activities.
Good organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong administrative organization and ability to maintain complete and accurate records.
Self-starter with ability to work independently.
Must have a valid driver's license and regular access to a reliable vehicle.
Bi-lingual/bi-cultural (Spanish/English) candidates strongly encouraged to apply.

Valid driver's license, good driving record, and regular access to a reliable vehicle.
Business Class Rider on Motor Vehicle Insurance, if transporting clients. (Reimbursable; required within one month of start of job).
