Description

Safety Manager (Individual Contributor):

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead investigations of workplace accidents and near-misses, and ensure proper reporting and documentation.
  • Provide ongoing safety training and education to employees at all levels, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
  • Collaborate with department heads and supervisors to integrate safety practices into daily operations and projects.
  • Monitor and update safety policies and procedures based on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Manage emergency response plans, including drills, equipment readiness, and employee preparedness.
  • Track and report on safety metrics, including injury rates and safety compliance performance.
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as OSHA and local safety authorities, during inspections and audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing workplace safety and minimizing risks.

Profile

Safety Manager (Individual Contributor):

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Proven experience in leading safety programs in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively train and influence employees at all levels.
  • Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and implement corrective actions to mitigate hazards.
  • Experience in accident investigation and root cause analysis to prevent future incidents.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety concerns.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage safety documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current on safety trends and continuously improve safety programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, or a related field, with at least 5+ years of experience in safety management.
