Casting & Machined Parts Commodity Manager

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

BUSINESS: Corporate

LOCATION: Remote

DIRECT REPORTING: Director A&D Global Supply Chain

Job Title: Manufacturing Commodity Manager - Casting & Machine Parts

Location: Role can be based at any US site (Tampa, Monroe, Warren, and Kentucky )and will be hybrid (25-50% in office)

Travel requirement: Travel approx. 50% (to sites and suppliers in N. America)

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Commodity Manager will lead and implement the strategy for casting and additive manufacturing, including driving savings and improving quality for CIRCOR operations in North America including Tampa, Monroe, Warren, and Kentucky. This person will drive & support development of a commodity strategy for castings, including supplier consolidation, identifying new suppliers and technologies, and improving quality of this core commodity. These efforts are to reduce current past due backlog, as well as manage current (in process) supplier transition projects.

Principal Activities:

  • Focus on delivering critical KPIs to Circor facilities:
    • On Time Delivery
    • Lead Time reduction
    • Reduction/elimination of non-conformances
    • Value improvement
  • Collaboration across all locations, working with an indirect team including purchasing, planning, and engineering colleagues to drive strategic and tactical alignment.
  • Develop & execute additional transition, improvement, savings projects
  • Managing the spend and reduce complexity of Circor's North American casting suppliers
  • To develop and execute a strategy, including supporting Make/Buy, that ensures Circor develops preferred machining suppliers that deliver finished / near finished items where appropriate.
  • Support RFQ activities for additional, new business
  • Evaluate & Establish new suppliers
  • Support (and drive where applicable) research and application of new technology to enhance or replace casted parts.
    • Additive manufacturing
    • Solid Stock machining


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgy / Material Science / Quality Control
  • 3+ years of experience with development of a commodity strategy for castings, including supplier consolidation, identifying new suppliers and technologies, and improving quality
  • Data Analysis, Critical Thinking & Problem solving
  • Continuous Improvement, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, (Six Sigma Green Belt preferred)
  • Supplier Performance Evaluation, APQP, PPAP, SPC
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Project Management
  • Nondestructive Testing
  • Ability to read Blueprints including GD&T
  • Microsoft Office
  • Good knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes
  • Customer focused
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and deliver positive change
  • Organized, self-motivated and able to work independently
  • No Limitations on Ability & Authorization to visit DoD Sites and Suppliers
