Job description

Duties The role of this position is to provide administrative support to facilitate the purchase, budget, inventory processes, technical supply support work for the installation and to issue and maintain aircraft parts. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Performing record functions in inventory, storage, cataloging and receipt and control processes.
Receiving material shipments into inventory.
Assisting with the maintenance Hazmat Authorize Use List with current Material Safety Data Sheets.
Preparing and shipping materials.
Preparing, controlling and coordinating procurement documents, assembling information and managing technical support issues.
Providing information to staff and vendors relative to the procurement, budget and inventory or aviation materials.
Providing a variety of office clerical work using a combination of office automation hardware and software programs.
Serving as a financial assistant and bookkeeper and keeping a complete and accurate record of expenditures for the unit.
Assisting with the shipping, receiving and storage of all Hazardous Material for the Department via both commercial carriers and unit aircraft. Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship is required. The position requires a valid state driver's license. Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Qualifications Qualifications for GS-07: Applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: Overseeing stock maintenance at or within prescribed levels and establish or adjust stock levels and reorder; conducting physical inventories and adjusting and/or maintaining inventory stock, plant, or property account records; contacting customers, supply organizations, and others to obtain material status information, follow up on urgently required items, and/or expedite delivery of material; and maintaining an accurate accounting and reporting system for non-expendable property and perform standardized property management control processes. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
