Assistant Track and Field Coach, Distance

The Opportunity

Lesley University seeks a part-time Assistant Track and Field Coach. The Assistant Track and Field Coach is responsible for assisting with the management of the program including practice planning, recruitment, player development, and implementing competition strategy. The Assistant Track and Field Coach will be responsible supporting all aspects associated with the Division III NCAA track and field program at Lesley University. They will help lead the track and field team according to NCAA, North Atlantic Conference and Lesley University standards, rules, and regulations. They will demonstrate awareness of, commitment, and adherence to NCAA and Conference rules to help instruct and develop student-athletes; develop and implement a comprehensive recruiting strategy; make strategic decisions in contest situations; and assistant with administrative responsibilities associated with the program operations, including fundraising efforts and community service. The Assistant Coach will help oversee the traditional season and recruiting efforts.

Qualities and Capabilities

A successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree (required).

  • Previous successful collegiate coaching experience or experience competing at the college, semi-professional, professional, or international level (required).

  • Participation in admissions Open Houses, Accepted Students Day and other new student events.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must have a valid U.S. driver's license or be able to commute to practice/competitions.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; if you hold a visa, your visa status must allow you to work at Lesley University.
