Job description

Our client, a higher education institute located in the Boston area, is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join their team for 3+ months. The hours for this role are Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm and it is compensating $25 an hour. Qualified and interested candidates are encouraged to apply today for immediate consideration.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee, plan, and execute the communications calendar
• Lead maintenance and updates to website
• Develop long and short form content for and manage social media sites
• Manage and update contacts database
• Create and design program, event, and recruitment print/marketing materials
• Design, write, and disseminate newsletter
• Support the writing of annual fundraising appeals, stewardship materials, and other donor related campaigns
• Educate and train staff on communication/marketing best practices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of communications/marketing or related experience required
• Bachelor's degree in communications, photojournalism, broadcast journalism, film, media, visual arts, or related field preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including knowledge of AP style
• Strong technical skills, including demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suites, Google Suites, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Constant Contact, Wordpress and Vimeo
• Ability to effectively manage time with multiple concurrent projects in an evolving environment
• Proficient with various communications platforms, including web, email, social media, and print.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript preferred.
