POSITION SUMMARY: color: rgba(0, 51, 102, 1)">To assist student(s), with special needs under the direction of the District Nurse Leader, the Director of Health and Wellness, and/or their designee by accommodating students by aiding in the use of mobility equipment, feeding, and toileting. This individual will facilitate learning by maintaining a positive environment and modifying classroom instructions as needed in order to deliver Framingham Public Schools' high expectations for achievement, equal access to high levels of instruction, the achievement of academic proficiency for all students, and the closing of the opportunity gap among subgroups within the schools.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: color: rgba(0, 51, 102, 1)">Graduate of a LPN Nursing Program approved by the Massachusetts Board of Nursing, current license as an LPN in Massachusetts, Current BLS Certification
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: color: rgba(0, 51, 102, 1)">Some experience working with children, especially special education students, medically complex children, and/or children with Autism, PDD or other neurological disorders is a plus.

- Provide tracheostomy care and suctioning as required by the student's care plan and medical orders.
- Provide respiratory assessment and detailed documentation as required by the student's care plan and medical orders. color: rgba(0, 51, 102, 1)">Assist and monitor students with daily living and eating skills, leisure activities and mobility. color: rgba(0, 51, 102, 1)">Assists the student(s) to whom assigned in such physical tasks as putting on and taking off of outerwear, moving from room to room, using the lavatory, and so on. color: rgba(0, 51, 102, 1)">Accompanies the student(s) to whom assigned when trips to the office or to the school nurse are necessary. color: rgba(0, 51, 102, 1)">Accompanies the student to whom assigned on field trips and other activities during school hours. color: rgba(0, 51, 102, 1)">Establishes as fully as possible a supportive and sympathetic relationship with the student(s) without fostering or encouraging intense emotional involvement. color: rgba(0, 51, 102, 1)">Serves as a resource person, if and when requested, to the student personnel evaluation team conferring about one of the students to whom assigned. color: rgba(0, 51, 102, 1)">Perform toileting/lifting, as needed. color: rgba(0, 51, 102, 1)">If the student to whom assigned is absent, the employee may be temporarily reassigned to another student or school based on the current needs of the district.
