Our client, a leading name in the bakery industry, is seeking a talented Research & Development (R&D) Specialist to join their dynamic team. About the Role:



As an R&D Specialist, you will be at the forefront of our clients product innovation. Youll work closely with cross-functional teams to create and refine baked goods that not only meet customer expectations but also exceed them. Your work will directly contribute to the companys reputation for quality and innovation in the marketplace.



Key Responsibilities:





  • Product Development: Lead the formulation and development of new bakery products, from concept through commercialization. Ensure that products align with consumer trends, company standards, and regulatory requirements.




  • Recipe Optimization: Analyze and improve existing recipes to enhance product quality, shelf life, and production efficiency. Use your expertise to troubleshoot and solve any formulation challenges.




  • Ingredient Research: Stay current with the latest ingredient trends and technologies. Evaluate new ingredients for potential use in product development, considering factors such as functionality, cost, and consumer appeal.




  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality assurance, marketing, and other departments to ensure successful product launches. Provide technical support and guidance to ensure products are scalable and meet all quality standards.




  • Innovation Pipeline: Contribute to the long-term innovation strategy by identifying new product opportunities and emerging trends in the bakery industry. Develop prototypes and lead taste tests to gather feedback and refine products.





What Our Client is Looking For:





  • Educational Background: A degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in R&D or product development are a plus.




  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in food product development, preferably within the bakery industry. A strong background in ingredient functionality and formulation is essential.




  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in food processing techniques, formulation software, and sensory evaluation methods. Experience with scaling recipes from bench to production is highly desirable.




  • Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to think creatively and critically to develop innovative solutions for product development challenges. A keen eye for detail and a passion for food innovation are crucial.




  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You should be comfortable presenting ideas and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
