TITLE: EHS Manager
TYPE: Direct Hire
LOCATION: Lowell, MA
ONSITE/REMOTE/HYBRID: Onsite

SHIFT: Day Shift

We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager who will spearhead our company's safety initiatives and policy development
This key role is charged with ensuring a safety-first culture across our workplace, abiding by all relevant Federal, State, and Local Industrial Standards
The EHS Manager will not only craft and enforce safety policies but will also play a vital role in our strategic business planning, particularly in areas concerning environmental, health, and safety matters
Key responsibilities include the implementation of safety and security measures, accident prevention, and compliance with government regulations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Comply with and prepare required OSHA and other regulatory reports, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws
  • Conduct and provide comprehensive Safety Training, emphasizing a secure working environment for all employees
  • Formulate and oversee health and safety programs that protect employees, contractors, and customers alike
  • Lead thorough investigations into workplace incidents and injuries, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective measures
  • Participate in corporate initiatives to mitigate accidents and potential liabilities
  • Compile and disseminate safety performance metrics, such as incident rates and leading indicators
  • Execute plant audits to pinpoint risks, manage safety trainings, and evaluate personal exposure levels
  • Excellently manage multiple projects, demonstrating organizational skills, independence, multitasking ability, and tangible achievements
  • Conduct facility audits to identify and rectify potential health and safety hazards, ensuring the adoption of preventative measures
  • Maintain State Drug-Free Certification and conduct employee training on maintaining a drug-free workplace
  • Lead investigations into near misses and direct the preparation for investigative procedures
  • Head the Employee Safety Committee to bolster safety awareness among staff
  • Liaise with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure legal compliance in health, safety, and environmental matters

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Project Management software
  • Strong team player with effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines
  • Fluency in Spanish is advantageous
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated, accountable, and continuously seeks personal and professional growth
  • Detail-oriented and committed to achieving excellent results
