The Quality Manager will oversee the quality management system in a precision manufacturing environment, leading the inspection department and managing direct reports such as inspectors and quality engineers. A precision manufacturer specializing in medical, electronic, and instrument components, we have over 30 years of experience in transitioning products from pre-production prototyping to high-volume production. With more than 35 CNC machining centers, including Swiss lathes and vertical machining centers, we excel in producing high-volume, high-precision components with tolerances as tight as 0.0001" and complex 3D geometric tolerances, working with a diverse range of materials such as plastics, aluminum, steel, magnesium, and exotic materials.
Description
As the Quality Manager you will:- Lead the Inspection Department: Manage all aspects, including part measurement, CMM programming, and raw material inspections.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Implement initiatives to enhance processes and skills through training and mentorship.
- Engage in HR Functions: Address team-related issues, determine employee raises, and participate in recruitment efforts.
- Serve as Quality Representative: Act as the management liaison at quarterly meetings and resolve discrepancies in customer drawings.
- Act as Customer Liaison: Develop inspection plans, conduct capability studies, and provide inspection data to clients.
- Oversee Calibration Systems: Manage external vendors, ensure all tools are calibrated, and maintain optimal tool availability.
- Foster a Quality Culture: Instill a quality-focused mindset throughout the organization while promoting respect and collaboration among team members.
Profile
The Quality Manager should have:
- 10+ years of experience in precision manufacturing with a strong focus on ISO-based quality systems.
- 8-10 years of leadership/management experience, demonstrating the ability to guide and inspire teams.
- Familiarity with CAD software is a plus, enhancing design and inspection capabilities.
