Job description
Job Title: Lead, Electrical Engineer - RF Engineer Job Code: 17146 Job Location: Northampton, MA Schedule: 9/80 Job Description: Design and development of electrical/electronic design, starting from concept and advancing maturity for implementation into finished working designs. Manages project initiatives of importance to the organization with general oversight and direction. Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches. Makes improvements in processes, systems, or products. Essential Functions: Design and develop electrical/electronic design concepts and implement concepts into finished working designs. Work from specification requirements, design concepts and inputs from customer and other engineers involving multidisciplinary activities.
Leadership of complex EE programs, overseeing other EE efforts from a technical standpoint
Lead and support the assembly and integration of products/systems containing microwave components or subsystems, leveraging extensive troubleshooting experience
Synthesize and define RF System designs for complex electro optical solutions. Coordinate system level requirements internally and among subcontractors and suppliers. Design and develop microwave components, circuits and subsystems for multidisciplinary products applications.
Develop test procedures and specify test equipment (including Vector Network Analyzers, Noise Figure Meters, and Spectrum Analyzers) and provide technical assistance to Technical Specialist or test personnel during testing of prototype and production hardware.
Identify and execute continuous improvements plans for the EE team
Develops estimates to complete work, in terms of both engineering hours and schedule duration Conduct or coordinate system cascade analyses and trade studies and complex design risk trade-off analysis. Coordinate and lead design reviews of new or existing designs prepare/present complex internal and external design reviews. Capable of providing technical supervision and training/mentoring to lower-level engineers. Support Production Floor for system integration and test Manage projects/processes with general supervision and regularly communicate with other engineering disciplines Develop production documentation and see through the configuration management process (Official release, redlines, Configuration Control Board meetings, etc.) Capable of performing design analysis and establish circuit level tests to establish validity of designs including thermal effects and contributions of tolerance. Qualifications: Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. 7+ years of experience designing and developing microwave components, circuits and subsystems for multidisciplinary products applications
4+ years of experience leading complex EE programs, overseeing other EE efforts from a technical standpoint
Must have excellent written/verbal communication skills
Familiar with MS Office products Preferred Additional Skills: Mixed signal Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design and development experience, preferably with Mentor Graphics tools
