In this Automation & Controls Engineer role you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation and control systems that optimize my clients production processes. Description

The Automation & Controls Engineer will report directly into the Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Design, program, and integrate automation and control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and other industrial control equipment.
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes through automation, focusing on increasing efficiency, reducing downtime, and ensuring product quality.
  • Diagnose and resolve control system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and reliable operation of all automated systems.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new automated equipment and systems, including coordinating with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from automated systems to monitor process performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operation and continuous improvement of automation systems.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for control systems, and provide training to operators and maintenance personnel on new systems and processes.

Profile

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in automation engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.) and HMI/SCADA system design
  • Strong understanding of process control, instrumentation, and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of robotics, vision systems, and motion control is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
