Salary: $76,500.00 - $88,000.00 / Annually The Dental Practice Manager (DPM) provides operational leadership and day-to-day oversight of the assigned dental offices and supervises non-clinician dental staff. The DPM collaborates with the Director of Dental Operations and assists in fulfilling CHPs mission, vision, and values. The DPM ensures the appropriate administrative as well as clinical support staff resources are present daily to achieve operational goals and objectives, including desired levels of clinical productivity and customer service. The DPM tracks adherence to compliance protocols as well as CHPs policies and procedures and ensures that staff are fully trained to accomplish their jobs and care for CHP patients. This person will support CHPs mission, vision, and values and will adhere to compliance protocols as well as CHPs policies and procedures.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Dental Practice Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Implements operational processes and procedures to achieve the departments strategic and operating objectives.
  2. Collaborates with the Director of Dental Operations and non-clinician staff to develop and achieve goals for clinician performance and productivity while maintaining a high level of quality and patient satisfaction.
  3. Collaborates with the Dental Director of Operations to actively manage the department, including working continuously to align clinical and operational objectives, solve problems, communicate with staff, and support overall performance.
  4. Specific staff oversight responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Ensures department staff are trained and provide the best possible service and support for patients and providers.
  • Approves and submits payroll accurately.
  • Staffs the department efficiently to support providers.
  • Assures billing is accurate and submitted on a timely basis. Works with staff to improve the collection rates of copayments and outstanding balances.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings and documents meeting agendas, minutes and action items requiring follow-up.
  • Ensures that all staff have equipment needed to do their jobs and collaborates with Director of Dental Operations, IT or facilities as needed.
  • Participates in Operations Team and Management meetings.

  1. To ensure adequate support of clinical resources, conducts activities of the Director of Dental Operations role, when needed.
  2. Ensures that standard operating procedures for compliance and safety are followed to meet local, state, and federal regulatory guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, policies and protocols compliant with Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
  1. Produces, analyzes, and actively uses key metrics to effectively manage practice and staff performance.
  2. Conducts performance reviews for direct reports, ensuring that adherence to CHPs core mission and values, requisite job skills, productivity measures, personal growth and learning opportunities are appropriately assessed and managed.
  3. Ensures respect and accommodation for diversity, equity, and inclusion in practice activities and the hiring and management of practice staff.
  4. Attends seminars, training sessions and in-services to keep current with trends and practices in health care administration, as needed.
  5. Travels to other sites, as necessary. Must be willing to work evening hours and weekends when necessary.
  6. Performs other job-related duties, as may be assigned by the Director of Dental Operations or SVP of Operations.

  5. Strong management skills, from identifying staffing needs, to interviewing/ hiring/onboarding, to performance management, and, when necessary, termination.
  6. Ability to provide constructive feedback including evaluation of providers productivity and practice attributes.
  7. Must be computer literate with ability to enter information in the CHP EHR system and compile reports or data as required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Knowledge of dental care.
  • Five or more (5+) years of Dental and/or medical office experience.
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university.
  • Relevant experience at CHP or a similar healthcare organization may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Results-proven track record of meeting individual and organizational goals.
