ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Understand, follow and promote all company policies and procedures.

• Clean and prepare work sites to eliminate possible hazards.

• Climb and balance with harness up to 30ft above ground.

• Ability to work off ladders often.

• Requires excessive walking.

• Working outside year-round.

• Measure, and mark dimensions to layout areas where work will be performed.

• Use equipment, power tools, and hands tools as designed and in a safe and effective manner.

• Physical demands include lifting at least 40 pounds, frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, standing.

• Perform other job functions duties as directed by Crew Leader or Supervisor in a safe and effective manner.

• Meet unexpected goals and deadlines.

• Demonstrate diligence in maintaining a clean, work environment at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Safety Guidelines

• The ground crew must be within sight of the operator before the crane is operated, and that they stay in constant visual communication and radio contact with the operator while the crane or any part of it is in motion.

• If any ground personnel need to move out of the operator's sight, you should give the stop signal until the crew member and the operator re-establish communication.

• The ground crew must be in constant visual communication with each other at all times. Review the communication system to be used before starting. Both people must know the proper hand signals for each movement of the machine or load.

• Know and understand the arrangements for movement of trucks, machines, personnel, etc. on the job. Be ALERT at all times.

• Keep the machine's operating area free from debris that could cause tire damage that may result in a blowout and possible damage to equipment.

• The operator and the ground crew are to ensure that ALL ground personnel are out of the machine's hoist working area before hoisting a load and that the area remains clear of personnel until the load is lowered safely to a suitable resting place.

• Never stand on a load that is being lifted, lowered, and moved, at any time.

• You must always wear proper protective equipment/clothing at all times; hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, reflective vest, gloves, harness, and tether.

• A harness must be used when working 4 feet off the ground. Must go through proper training courses before doing work.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Education - High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

• Experience - 1 to 3 years of carpentry, mechanical, manufacturing, production or laborer related experience preferred.

• Carpentry Skills - Knowledge of basic measurements. Ability to use a tape measure to record, mark or communicate physical dimensions preferred.

• Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals preferred.

• Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, simple drawings, and procedure manuals.
