Job description

Reporting into the President of the organization, my client is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer ll to join their growing team. In this position you will provide technical support for the processes used to manufacture electronic products that are used by a variety of highly regulated OEM companies throughout the US.

My client, located in the Woburn, MA area, specializes in providing electronics manufacturing services, particularly in the fields of defense, medical devices, and instrumentation. Founded nearly 50 years ago, they operate from a large, state-of-the-art facility, offering services such as rapid prototyping, low-volume assembly, and technical program management. The company is well-regarded for its work on defense applications and overall have an excellent reputation in the industry.


Description

The responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer ll include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops programs for production equipment.
  • Creates and maintains routings, Bills of Material, drawings, detailed assembly and inspection instructions and visual aids as required to process order. Creates tooling and fixturing to facilitate production.
  • Interpret customer and technical specifications, drawings, engineering instructions, and fabrications and communicate requirements to the factory.
  • Analyzes current processes and implements process improvements to reduce costs and/or increase quality.
  • Evaluates scope of project and determines production labor and material requirements.
  • Develop and document operating procedures and work instructions with the focus on continued productivity and quality.
  • Acts as liaison and technical advisor between our program manager. customer and/or internal departments regarding: technical problems, coordinating schedule changes, material availability.

Profile

The successful Manufacturing Engineer ll will have the following qualification:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred, but not required.
  • 6+ years of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry
  • Experience working in contract manufacturing
  • Technically proficient interpreting drawings, part lists, and customer specifications
  • Experience working with wire and cables is preferred, but not required.
  • Cost/estimate/ quoting knowledge a plus
  • IPC 620 experience preferred
