Our Auburn Hills, MI location is seeking a Supervisor Mechanical Engineering to join our team. Are you ready to shape the future with us? THE POSITION Supervisor Mechanical Engineering, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI: Perform engineering duties related to planning and design of air springs and sub-components. Responsible for design of air springs and sub-components in alignment with customer and internal requirements and package boundary conditions. Initiate and lead package studies for envelope determination. Support and lead the detailing of component and assembly drawings. Verify customer and supplier requirements with internal specifications/requirements. Perform supplier management (technical contact partner for suppliers). Participate in plant launch planning meetings. Support Morganton plant with any quality issues. Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week. Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience. Of the required experience, must have experience in each of the following: 5 years of experience analyzing mechanical object failure, using DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report), DRBFM (Design Review Based Failure Mode) and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis); 5 years of experience fulfilling FEA (Finite Element Analysis) simulation orders, determining load cases and assessing design changes to ensure orders pass FEA simulation; 5 years of experience fulfilling automotive air spring and sub-component test and prototype orders as well as engineering change requests, including tracking of execution; 3 years of experience reviewing detailed assembly and subcomponent air spring drawings; and 2 years of experience in vehicle kinematic suspension.
