Physical Therapist-

Orthopedic Specialists of Oakland County is currently seeking a full time Physical Therapist to join our growing practice. OSOC is a large physician group specializing in Orthopedic Medicine. Our Providers are dedicated to providing patients with individualized and innovative care. OSOC providers are highly sought after by the community and have unmatched reputations. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Physical Therapist to join our team in providing excellent patient care.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The physical therapist is responsible for examining, evaluating, and developing a treatment plan for patients with functional limitations. PT's to provide consultation to healthcare providers regarding patient's continuum of care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Direct patient care: Provides a Physical Therapy evaluation, incorporating Patient treatment: evaluates, interprets findings; develops treatment and discharge plans; implements treatment, re-evaluates, educates patients and significant others; meets productivity
2. Documents: evaluation results, treatment and discharge plans and daily treatment according to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and professional standards of documentation; submits charges for services provided.
3. Maintains verbal, written and electronic communication and collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team, referral sources, physicians, and 3rd party payors.
4. Participates in leadership functions: community outreach, continuous quality improvement, marketing, cost containment, program development, PTA/AT/aide/student supervision; teaches staff, physicians and others.
5. Professional development: Attends staff meetings; maintains and improves competence through self-study, attending in-services and continuing education programs. Clinical education to students.
6. Manage staff and department resources wisely. Supervise assigned support staff. Communicates appropriately with patient, caregiver, and family regarding treatment and discharge planning.
7. Provide documentation to the physicians regarding the patient initially, at discharge, and at appropriate intervals. Discusses changes to the prescribed program with the physician before initiation.
8. PT maintains good standing with the licensure/regulatory board and all applicable laws/rules/regulations.

Adheres to HIPAA requirements and maintains confidentiality of all data, including patient/resident, employee and operations information.
Supports and participates in a collaborative team oriented environment - cooperates and works together with all co-workers, plans and completes job duties, uses appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations and follows up as appropriate regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.
Supports, cooperates with and demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules - including universal precautions - reports and prevents/corrects unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participates in organizational and departmental safety programs.
Completes all required compliance standards that may be department specific and/or identified by the organization.
Maintains current licensure, registration and/or certification, as applicable, at all times.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
This individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education / Training: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required. Masters or Doctorate Degree preferred.
Work Experience: two years minimal.
Written or verbal communication skills required. Word processing and computer skills required.
Michigan State License in Physical Therapy required. Preferred BLS certification.
Other Qualifications to include:
Competent clinical and evaluation skills are required.
Ability to demonstrate strong customer service standards; excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work independently in a fast paced environment; knowledge of clinical pathology, evaluation and treatment techniques for assigned population.
Must be able to demonstrate basic computer proficiency for EMR documentation.
