Scope of the Position

The Weld Technician is in charge of run welding processes to ensure the integrity and quality of products, always seeking to optimize resources and continuous improvement. This is a 2nd or 3rd Shift position (2-10:30pm from) or (10pm - 6:30am) (Hours may be flexible). starting pay at $32.50/hr + $0.75 shift premium. 8.5 hours Sunday night through Friday OT as needed.

Responsibilities

• Identify,Troubleshoot, and adjust all welding Resistance or Mig weld cells repairs in a very timely manner.

• Maintain and support all welding equipment to minimize downtime.

• Modify and maintain welding applications using Fanuc & Nachi Robotic Welding
• Modify and Maintain (PLC AB) backups for welding equipment.
• Modify and maintain weld schedules, setup/changeover, setup parameters for MIG welder, Spot and projection welding applications.
• Modify weld fixtures setup to improve or correct welds/components position as per drawing specifications.

• Replace weld clamps, fixture components.

• Complete Preventative Maintenance Task

• Support Production and Maintenance departments in troubleshooting and repair of the welding equipment.
• Identify and implement continous improvement projects for increasing plant efficiency and cost reductions.
• Update welding PFMEA for various products as requested
• Validate and maintain records of welding control parameters
• Assist in training and methods for welding operations
• Optimize the performance of welding consumables
• Support plant quality system
• Support direct team, all technicians to cover absent and vacations.

Qualifications

• High School graduate
• Community college/technician school diploma in Welding Engineering Technology, certified Weld Technician from a recognized body or at least four (2) years related work experience in a welding manufacturing environment
• Fanuc Robotics Training at Fanuc (Preferred, but not required)

• Strong knowledge of Fanuc Weld Cells and Centerline Resistance Weld Cell

• PLC Programming using Allen Bradley (Preferred, but not required.)
• Industrial Controls
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Have mechanical skills
• Welding Standards
• Have electrical controls knowledge
• Basic skills in full Microsoft Office software
• Ability to follow guidelines
• Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail
• Strong analytical ability
• Interpersonal skills are required
• Troubleshooting ability is required
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated good internal customer service skills

Working Conditions

• Physical ability up to lift min of 50lbs
• Work within confined space areas
• Must be able to Bend, lift, kneel, crawl, lean.
• Must be able to work in hights.
• Manual dexterity required to use on tools and equipment required
• Overtime as required
