Job description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Accounts Payables, General Ledger, Accrual Accounting, Job Costing, and advanced proficiency in Excel. This role will play a crucial part in month-end processing and will eventually transition into a key player in forecasting and budgeting activities.

Key Responsibilities for Accountant:

1. Accounts Payables Management:

   • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions.
   • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures regarding invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor relations.

2. General Ledger Maintenance:

   • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by recording accurate and timely journal entries.
   • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

3. Accrual Accounting:

   • Implement and maintain accrual accounting principles to accurately reflect financial performance and obligations.

4. Job Costing:

   • Develop and maintain a robust job costing system to accurately allocate costs and track project profitability.
   • Analyze job cost data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.

5. Excel Analysis and Process Improvements:

   • Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data, create insightful reports, and identify process improvement opportunities.
   • Streamline accounting processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

6. Month-End Processing:

   • Lead month-end close activities, including preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, and accruals.
   • Ensure deadlines are met and financial reporting is accurate and reliable.

7. Forecasting and Budgeting:

   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop accurate financial forecasts and budgets.
   • Provide insights and recommendations based on historical data and current market trends.

Qualifications for Accountant role:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in Excel.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles and month-end close processes.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record of process improvement and innovation.
• Experience in forecasting and budgeting is a plus.
