Job description
Financial Service Rep - starting salary range - $19.26 per hour
Summary/Objective
The Financial Service Representative is responsible for providing effective member service by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of credit union products and services, as well as communicating effectively with team members within the branch.
Responsibilities
Provide accurate, courteous, and timely professional service to existing and prospective members.
Solely operate branch working independently with little or no supervision.
Assist members by providing information and answering questions about the credit union services and requirements/eligibility.
Meet/exceed branch goals and objectives.
Process transactions accurately and efficiently to build member confidence and trust based on established policies and procedures.
Analyze member activity and cross sell other products and services to fit member needs.
Process loan and new membership applications ensuring proper credit union processes are followed and adhered to.
Comply with BSA and other applicable regulations, internal policies and standard procedures.
Receive checking and savings deposits: verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back and issue receipts of deposit.
Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements and complete hold notices.
Perform credit card cash advances, receive loan payments, and service charge payments as required.
Process transfers between accounts and automatic distribution forms, recording all transactions according to member's request.
Perform other duties as required for the efficient operation of the branch.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED required. Some college level course work preferred
Two years prior banking or customer service experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in assisting customers with inquires and/or problem resolution
Identifying opportunities to enhance member financial needs, goals and objectives
Professional business like appearance
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications
Must have a strong interest in giving back to the community
Willingness to travel locally

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.
