What You Will Be Doing
Multisystemic Therapy for Problem Sexual Behavior (MST/PSB) is a clinical adaptation of Multisystemic Therapy that is targeted to adolescents who have committed sexual offenses and demonstrated other problem behaviors. MST/PSB has been proven effective at decreasing problem sexual and other antisocial behaviors and out-of-home placements. Multisystemic therapy is an intensive, ecological intervention that is directed at youth and their families, with the collaboration of community-based resources such as caseworkers, probation/parole officers, and school professionals.
Working as an MST/PSB Therapist you will provide model adherent intensive in-home clinical treatment to a diverse population of adolescents with problem sexual behavior and delinquent behaviors and their families. You will provide confidential culturally responsive mental health and substance use therapy to diverse youth ages 12-17 who are diagnosed with severe emotional disturbance. You will demonstrate passion and cultural competence working with racially marginalized families, diverse communities, and LGBTQ youth. In this position, you will develop and document, clear clinical formulations and treatment plans that are individualized and measurable, developed in collaboration with the client/family and others involved on the care team. You must maintain high accessibility to clients and commit to a non-traditional, but flexible schedule that is based on families' availability. Additionally, you will be part of a rotation of on-call shifts and be available after-hours; when on call, you must be able to go to families' homes quickly after hours as needed.
What We Require
MST Therapist requires a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field.
Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW/LMSW) preferred; Limited License Psychologist (LLP); Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC/LPC) and valid Michigan Driver's license. Clinicians with limited licenses will be considered.
A minimum of one-year experience in clinical settings working with youth.
You will have knowledge of the DSM V, co-occurring disorders, substance use disorders, culturally responsive interventions, evidence-based and promising practice interventions. You will be familiar with psychotropic medications and the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing work environment. The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptive to changes in policies and procedures, assist in meeting outcome measures and provide excellent clinical service to consumers. Priority consideration will be given to qualified candidates who are fluent in English and Spanish.
