Hospice Nurse Educator position summary The hospice/home care educator is responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of education for home care and/or hospice with an emphasis on ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Works in collaboration with the hospice and/or home care managers to ensure orientation, competency development and integration of new colleagues as well as the ongoing development of current staff. Additional responsibilities include serving as the informatics liaison and providing education regarding competence with the multiple types of technologies (computer, electronic health record (HCHB), learning management system, etc.) that are required for each role. The educator also functions as the liaison with schools, colleges and universities to coordinate student learning activities.
