Job description

Job Position: Non Profit Program Director

Location: Pontiac, MI 48341

Pay Rate: $55,000.00-$60,000.00

Purpose: To plan, develop and implement programming, provide support to the Executive Director, support program staff and residents and supervise program staff.

Essential Functions:

• Establish, review and implement department goals & policies

• Plans and administers programming and its activities

• Supervises the Case Coordinator, Residential Manager, & program interns

• Interview and vets all potential residents

• Works closely with & provides support to the Executive Director as needed.

Requirements:

The Program Director will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of daily residential programming as well as providing direct services to residents.

The Program Director will also be responsible for engaging the community in prevention work which may include public presentations and participation in events.

The Program Director is responsible for facilitating and continuing to maintain existing and future coordinated community partnerships as directed by the E.D.

• 3-4 years of experience in trauma informed care or group care setting

• Understand Trauma-informed care

• Mental Health Professional licensed as a LMSW or LCSW

• Proven experience in program development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of quantitative performance measures, including tracking/collecting/analyzing data for reporting and process improvement purposes

• Considerable skill in working, establishing, and maintaining effective interpersonal working relationships with staff, peers, and external contacts, including outside agencies.

• Experience facilitating groups, building team cohesiveness, and practicing diplomacy

• Capable of remaining highly organized with attention to detail while multi-tasking and continuously re-prioritizing work

• Strong communication skills/team player

• Ability to manage multiple schedules efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to write and maintain case notes in a timely manner

• Integrity and Humility

• Organizational skills and detail oriented

• Valid driver's license; clean driving record; proof of insurance; and reliable transportation to attend meetings, trainings, and/or transport residents to appointments (as appropriate)

• Understanding how to abide and uphold confidentiality

• Willing to work evenings and weekend occasionally when required (Flex Hours)

• Experience in case and/or residential management or equivalent position with experience working with trauma, substance abuse, sexual exploitation, victim assistance, child protective service, youth in foster care or human trafficking populations.

Salary: Base Salary: • $55,000 to $60,000 based on a combination of education and experience

Job Description: The Program Director will be required to perform a wide range of duties, including but not limited to the following (order is not indicative of priority):

• Oversee volunteers, interns, and staff

• Provide supervision to ensure residents receive trauma informed care at all levels of the organization

• Organize transportation and provide supervision to ensure staff and volunteers are maintaining both daily and weekly program, treatment, and appointment schedules in a consistent and timely manner

• Provide supervision of management to ensure that staff and volunteers are maintaining all documentation as appropriate: daily case notes in Charity Tracker, Incident Reports, and any requested documentation

• Provide supervision and feedback to management on an as needed basis to ensure that organization policy and procedures are consistently maintained

• Work with the Executive Director in providing opportunities for ongoing continued education for management and staff

• Participate in planning and implementing training to board members, volunteers, and staff as required by the Executive Director

• Participate in high level meetings as required by the Executive Director

• Provide a monthly board report per the format and deadline outlined by the Executive Director

• Facilitate initial assessment and vetting of resident applications

• Refer to, document, and advocate on behalf of residents with community partners and resources; with support of the Residential Manager as needed

• Support the Residential Manager as needed in conducting his/her duties

• Provide crisis intervention for residents and graduates with Residential Manager as needed

• Communicate all concerns regarding residents' treatment and behavior in timely manner to Executive Director

• Communicate concerns about management and staff performance in a timely manner to the Executive Director; and take disciplinary steps to address concerns, including supervisory feedback and advisement of termination.

• Assist the Executive Director in annual performance evaluations of management and staff

• Coordinate on-call availability for management and staff with Executive Director

• Meet weekly as a program team with the Executive Director to review progress/concerns regarding individual residents and to address overall program issues/events

• Plan and administer the delivery of the overall program and its activities, including curriculum, enrichment opportunities, therapeutic programs, etc.

• Work with the Executive Director in establishing an annual program budget

• Monitor program budget with the support and supervision of the Executive Director

• Review residents' accounts, program expenses, and matched saving financials on monthly basis to ensure proper accounting and fiscal responsibility

• Conduct vetting and background checks as required

• Attend all staff meetings and any staff workshops/retreats/training

• Work with the Executive Director in establishing MOUs

• Provide feedback, support, and recommendations to the Executive Director regarding program administration, special events, crisis management, volunteers, staff, policies, procedures, and rules as appropriate
