Outpatient Therapist, Counselor, Clinical Social Worker
Seeking fully licensed outpatient mental health therapists for growing therapy practice. Full time (4 days a week) positions are available in our Sandusky and Bad Axe office.
Lakeshore Therapy is a high quality outpatient therapy counseling practice in Sanilac and Huron counties. Flexible job options are available for fully licensed Social Workers or Licensed Professional Counselors to provide psychotherapy for all ages in a supportive, growing, collegial private practice setting. Monday-Thursday schedule with Fridays off suggested. Flexible scheduling available with option to work a weekend day if desired. LMSW with experience preferred. Computer literacy and typing skills are a must.
Job Description Summary: Administer therapeutic treatment, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral modification, and motivational interviewing to assist clients in controlling their mental health symptoms, substance use, co-occurring disorders, and other areas of concern. Provide individual and family counseling services to clients and families to assist them in achieving more effective personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment. Assess and evaluate as appropriate by licensure and educational scope of practice such as Master's, or PhD degree or level of licensure.
Requirements: The fully licensed therapist must be able to clinically assess and document the needs of each client, along with forming an effective treatment plan for all age groups. Provision of professional counseling services to individuals, children, couples, and family systems to improve social functioning, maximize their potential and work with clients to reach goals. Applicant must be personable, have the ability to manage their caseload and the ability to work with diverse clientele and cultural backgrounds. Must have computer skills and the ability to utilize an electronic health record as well as complete all necessary administrative work. Organized, detail oriented and self-motivated clinicians will be successful in this position. A valid, unlimited or full license to practice in the State of Michigan is required.
Responsibilities and Duties: Job will consist of running a clinical caseload. Candidate will be required to complete intakes as well as provide treatment for mental health disorders while coordinating care with medical professionals. Must be competent at intake assessment, diagnosis and treatment, rapport building, and ethical use of therapeutic techniques using evidence based practice.
Qualifications and Skills: Must have computer skills competent enough to complete electronic medical records and treatment plans in timely manner. A 45 word per minute minimum typing speed requested, 60 words per minute preferred. Candidate must have excellent clinical skills and be able to treat DSM 5 mental health disorders in a manner consistent with ethical and proven therapeutic techniques.
