Job description

Duties Operates Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) to scan network devices and Host Based Security System (HBSS) Consoles to ensure all modules are compliant with latest updates in support of Army Cyber Defense efforts. Ensures Service Now Incident Tickets are actioned within the required suspense times. Validates all required documents for network user accounts are validated prior to approving new or change request are approved. Coordinates with mission partner elements to acquire document shortfalls before approving requests. Ensures that Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), IAVA Bulletins, and IA Technical Tips are disseminated to appropriate personnel (SA/NA) within their area of responsibility. Obtains and inputs information necessary for input and routine updating in the required Asset database. Serves as Trusted Agent for NIPRNET Privileged User Tokens and SIPRNET Tokens for both General and Privileged Users. Performs duties as COMSEC/KMI operator and COMSEC TPI Alternate. Assists COMSEC Manager with the receipt, inventory, distribution, destruction, and final disposition reporting of COMSEC material. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Three year trial/probationary period may be required. Incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoDM 8140.03, Cyberspace workforce qualification and management program, dated 15 Feb 2023 or updated version and/or additional guidance. Personnel assigned to this position must obtain the appropriate certification within six months of being assigned. Failure to satisfactory obtain and/or maintain updated certifications IAW publication listed are grounds for termination. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top- Secret security clearance, based on favorably adjudicated T5 investigation. This position is designated as ADP level II. Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) is required approximately 15% of the time. Travel may be required to attend training, conferences, and other mission requirements. In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. Qualifications This position is in the Professional Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by: Conducting analysis on IT security products to identify violations and recommend corrections; Maintaining and protecting information systems from computer viruses, hackers and other security risks; Advising and implementing countermeasures on Cybersecurity regulations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information. (4) Problem Solving Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, three full years of graduate education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
