Job description
Duties Develops emergency plans and procedures for the effective use of Army resources during no-plan situations. Ensures support annexes for plans and operations orders are developed to compliment emergency contingency plans of higher headquarters. Coordinates and synthesizes all directorate and special staff inputs to the development of garrison plans and/or order in areas concerning combating terrorism and force protection issues Provides military assistance to coordinate with civil authorities for domestic emergencies in operations other than war (OOTW). Develops integrated and coordinated plans to accommodate units or activities moving into or out of the garrison. Facilitates for the garrison executive agency responsibilities in the areas of combating terrorism/force protection and domestic emergencies Coordinates with other activities in regards to weapons of mass destruction/nuclear, biological, chemical type incidents and homeland defense. Plans, oversees, assigns, and evaluates work of subordinates in the unit and assures reasonable equity among subordinates of performance standards and rating techniques developed. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization. The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty . This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter . A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed. This position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements. Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be willing and able to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance. Must be willing and able to travel for business 10 percent of the time. Must be willing and able to submit to initial and random drug testing. Writing Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
