Accounting Clerk

Job Summary:

The accounting clerk is responsible for providing support to the accounting department by performing various clerical tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and assisting with the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of basic accounting principles.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Royalty Payment Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Process licensee and licensor payments
  • Maintain accurate records of royalty payments
  • Prepare royalty payment reports
  • Work with Royalty Administrator on new contracts and update current contracts as necessary

Pricing responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with Inventory Managers and Growers to collect data
  • Assist controller to create costing model annually
  • Primary Record Keeper for meetings regarding product pricing models and associated spreadsheets
  • Primary point of contact with pricing for internal and external sales brokers
  • Supplier costs and negotiations annually

Reporting responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monthly sales reports, year-end sales review, freight costing, order fulfillment

Inventory responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and participate in quarterly inventory counts
  • Monthly accounting inventory adjustments in general ledger

Accounting responsibilities include:

  • Assist AP and AR as needed
  • Answer customer phone calls regarding account status
  • General Ledger entries and reconciliation
  • Assist with annual sales and board books
  • Monthly petty cash count/audit
  • Corporate credit card reconciliation


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills are essential. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, expectations, and deadlines.
  • Computer Skills: High level of proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel required (v-lookups and pivot tables specifically). Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred
  • Experience: Previous work in a nursery or greenhouse a plus.
