Join our dynamic healthcare Beautiful Cass Lake Indian Health Services team in Cass Lake, Minnesota we are seeking Emergency Room Physicians for locum long-term assignments. As an Emergency Room Physician on a contract basis, you'll play a critical role in providing high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise and dedication will be crucial in delivering life-saving treatment and support to patients during urgent medical situations.
This is a Long Term ER MD/DO contract opportunity.
• Flexible Hours, Day, Night and Mid shifts available
• Emergency Room experience as an MD Required
• Up to 1 year contract with extension options
• 2-3 years of experience Needed
• IHS facility experience preferred
• Previous Locum Tenens experience preferred
• Board certification in Emergency Medicine needed
• Work on any US license
• Adult and Pediatric experience needed
Job Duties
- Provide immediate medical attention and treatment to patients experiencing acute health issues or trauma in the emergency room.
- Conduct thorough examinations, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to make accurate diagnoses.
- Stabilize patients in life-threatening situations by performing appropriate emergency medical procedures.
- Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation of patient interactions and treatments.
- Make timely decisions regarding patient admission, discharge, or referral to appropriate departments.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards in all medical practices.
- Stay updated with the latest medical advancements and emergency care protocols through continuous education.
- Provide clear and compassionate communication with patients and their families regarding medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of emergency department protocols.

Indian Preference Exercised:
Prairie Band, LLC is subject to Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. In accordance with Title 22, this position is designated as a TIER 2 position. Preference will be given to individuals to the extent required pursuant to Section 22-2-4(B).
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
- Valid state medical license to practice in the USA.
- Possess and maintain at all times a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Commitment to continuous education and staying current with medical advancements.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Have completion of a nationally recognized postgraduate training program in Emergency Medicine or have completed of at least 2 years of a nationally recognized primary care specialty postgraduate training program (FP, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/Gyn., General Surgery) or one year of recognized postgraduate training in a general primary care specialty WITH board certification in Emergency Medicine for Emergency Room Providers.
