POSITION SUMMARY: The Payment Operations Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Payment Operations team in the ownership and processing of various bank payment systems. This position provides backup assistance for key functions, including ACH, wire transfers, ICS/CDARS, item processing (e.g. unposted items and returned checks), and the processing of garnishments and levies. This position plays a key role in ensuring that payment operations run smoothly and accurately, supporting both internal and external customers.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Verify and process incoming and outgoing wire transfers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with bank policy and regulatory requirements.
  2. Conduct daily reviews of cash vault services reports and ensure accurate and timely processing of client deposits.
  3. Review and manage dormant accounts, ensuring adherence with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  4. Ensure compliance with bank policies, industry regulations, and security protocols during all payment processing activities.
  5. Support the continuous improvement of payment processes by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
  6. Provide backup support for the processing of wire transfers, ACH transactions, and other payment systems.
  7. Assist with item processing tasks, including resolving unposted items, processing returned checks, and handling exceptions.
  8. Collaborate with team members and other departments, including Treasury Management and Retail, to resolve payment-related issues and account exceptions.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed largely within the Bank with limited chance for personal injury. Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required. Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally during normal business hours. Unscheduled evening and weekend work may be needed to meet the needs of customers and employees. Occasional travel between offices and out-of-town/overnight business travel required. Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of office supplies and equipment. Some bending, turning, and twisting required.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

Prior experience or internships in banking, payment operations, or a related field is a plus, but not required.
