Job description
We are seeking EITHER a FT Pastor of Worship and Discipleship (40 hours/week) OR a PT Associate Worship Pastor (20 hours/week).
The Pastor of Worship and Discipleship (FT) OR the Associate Worship Pastor (PT) is responsible for providing leadership by planning, coordinating, and evaluating all corporate worship services and special events. The Pastor of Worship and Discipleship OR the Associate Worship Pastor will work under the direction of the Lead Pastor and in coordination with the Lead Pastor to create relevant and engaging weekly services.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Pastor in the accomplishment of the church's mission and vision through strategic planning and leadership of our adults.
- Provide pastoral care to the people of KCC and local community members.
- Recruit volunteers to facilitate the discipleship of our adults. Provide vision, training, resources, curriculums to be used, and classes offered to develop our Characteristics of a Disciple for all adults who have been disciples for five years or longer.
- Establish and maintain a set of key performance measures that will facilitate the Lead Pastor and elders with determining the effectiveness of our adult discipleship strategies.
- Develop policies and processes that provide staff and volunteers with clear direction that will guide the ministries of the church.
- Cast vision for our worship services. Keep all volunteers working toward one vision.
- Plan, design, and organize weekly worship services and special events.
- Recruit, train, equip, and direct musicians, vocalists, and technical assistants in the production of the weekly worship services and special events.
- Lead the ongoing development of musicians and audio/visual technicians.
- Provide discipleship opportunities for the spiritual growth of worship team volunteers.
- Produce recordings of services that can be utilized as a virtual worship service and/or an archive of past services.
- Attend weekly staff meetings, bi-monthly Worship Committee meetings, and monthly Board Meetings (or have a Worship Committee representative).
- Assist in the development of an annual budget for the worship ministry and manage spending to budget.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will preferably have a minimum of 1-3 years of ministry experience and/or a background in music, preferably within a leadership capacity. Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in music ministry, general Bible, or similar is preferred. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of Christ-like character, effective servant-leadership, and will be equally focused on reaching the ONE and discipling the 99. This individual will be a strong leader who is capable of directing music, gifted as an artist, and able to develop others in the area of music.
