The Safety and Quality Coordinator will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety and quality programs to ensure a safe and high-quality work environment. This position will assist the QSM in various tasks related to safety and quality management, while gaining hands-on experience and knowledge in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Management Support:
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs and policies.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits under the guidance of senior staff.
- Participate in the investigation of workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Help ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations by maintaining accurate safety records and documentation.
- Support the coordination and delivery of safety training sessions for employees.
Quality Assurance Support:
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance procedures and programs.
- Conduct basic quality audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Collect and analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist in the resolution of quality issues.
- Assist projects with maintaining quality records and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and quality performance.
- Assist in conducting root cause analysis and problem-solving sessions to address safety and quality issues.
- Support the implementation of process improvements and best practices across the organization.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Help ensure that all safety and quality activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of safety and quality reports to management and regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated on safety and quality regulations and standards to support compliance efforts.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Assist in serving as a point of contact between management and employees on safety and quality matters.
- Help communicate safety and quality performance metrics and updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality awareness within the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Management, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Strong interest in safety and quality management.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and quality standards.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- OSHA 30
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internships or prior experience in safety or quality management is a plus.
- Familiarity with ProCore is advantageous.
- BCSP certifications
- Multi Family Experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to conduct physical inspections and audits in various work environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
