Job description

Job Title: Engineer II

Location: 6000 Nathan Lane N, Plymouth, MN 55442

Duration: 12+ months contract - Possibility of Extension/FTE Conversion

Payrate: $35-40/ Hr on W2 (without benefits/PTO)

Qualifications:

Education and Experience, Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering degree preferred
  • 2+ years' experience

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • Has a basic understanding of best practices. Has a basic to intermediate understanding of engineering discipline
  • Intermediate design and technical background in selection of engineering materials, plastic and metal components design, geometric dimensioning, and tolerance analysis (GD&T), critical to function (CTF), critical dimensions and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Ability to design test fixtures, design test methods, and analyze data.
  • Ability to receive general project direction and solicit input from more experienced engineers.
  • Requires the ability to independently make decisions that impact the attainment of project objectives.
  • Solidworks experience preferred
  • Minitab and statistical experience preferred
  • Medical device or experience in a regulated industry preferred

Responsibilities:

This role will support the research and development engineering team within Client's temperature management business unit. This role will be supporting all R&D engineering aspects of the product development process and post market activities including both hardware and consumables products. Completes intermediate projects with guidance from more experienced engineers and managers. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts independent analysis and develops solutions to problems.
  • Develops approaches and designs where precedent usually exists.
  • Performs developmental and/or test work that relies heavily on a comprehensive knowledge of theory and design.
  • Writes detailed design specifications.
  • Receives general project direction. Solicits input from more experienced engineers.
  • Delivers communications tailored to the needs of the receiver (managers, peers, customers) with appropriate frequency to maximize its utility and promote cross-functional collaboration.
  • Assist and/or lead design verification activities.
  • Work on special projects as they arise
