Job description

My client, a nationally recognized law firm, is looking to add an LAA to their Minneapolis litigation team. The Legal Administrative Assistant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group. This position requires a proactive and confident professional with a solid background in administrative tasks. You will be responsible for managing a variety of duties, from organizing case files to liaising with clients, all while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to multiple attorneys and timekeepers.
  • Organize and maintain legal documents, including case files, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Prepare and edit legal documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, court appearances, and depositions.
  • Manage attorney calendars, track deadlines, and arrange travel as needed.
  • Assist in billing processes, including time entry and invoice management.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients, providing excellent customer service.
  • Regularly exercise independent judgment in prioritizing and completing tasks.
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications/Skills:


  • 4-8 years prior experience as an administrative assistant required.
  • Experience in law firm or corporate legal department preferred; experience in litigation preferred.
  • Some college preferred; background in legal studies/paralegal studies a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and proactive business style required.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office required, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

SCHEDULE: Full-Time; M-F 8:30 - 5:00
