Job description

Summary
NAVOCEANO is responsible for the collection, processing, and dissemination of operational oceanographic data and information in support of Fleet requirements. The successful candidate will assist the customer in supporting the N6 "DODIIN Node" which is a set of mainly Linux-based middleware and database servers supporting NAVO's OCEANS Network on NIPR and SIPR. The role involves providing system administration support in accordance with established processes and procedures. Duties, Tasks & Responsibilities
• JBoss EAP 7.X or later Sustainment
• Apache 2.4 Sustainment, Configuration and Security
• ESRI ArcGIS Server 10.9.X or later Sustainment, Configuration, and Security on Microsoft Windows Server 2019 (a small footprint of servers)
• IIS Web Server Sustainment, Configuration, and Security for Microsoft Windows Server 2019
• Sustain STIG Required Log Analysis and Usage Metrics
• Cybersecurity Documentation and Quarterly STIG updates and associated remediation
• Performing workstation computer operating system loads and configuration. • Application installations. • Perform system administration duties to include operating system installation, patching, upgrades for Red Hat Enterprise Linux workstations and servers. • Perform installation of approved software on Red Hat Enterprise Linux workstations and servers. • Conduct system administration tasks following DoD, DoN, and NAVOCEANO policies, processes and guidelines. Required Experience, Skills, & Technologies
• CSWF requirements: B.S. in Computer Science or related degree or IAT/IAM II Certification (e.g. Sec+)
• Experience with:
o advanced scripting (e.g. Bash)
experience with Ansible or Puppet desired, but is not required
o ESRI ArcGIS Servers
o Java configuration
o Apache
o JBoss
o Elastic Stack o Windows IIS small footprint of Windows servers hosting ArcGIS through Windows IIS. Must be comfortable with performing fairly straightforward administration on these Windows servers
• Minimum 3 years of configuring and maintaining Linux servers.
• Significant, hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7& 8 • Security + certification.
• Cyberspace IT/CSWF certified or certification to be acquired within 60 days,
• Must meet requirements for privileged IT ACCESS.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively and proactively across a large organization of dispersed teams and external customers.
• Strong ability to self-start and work independently.
• Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex information technology documentation
• Experience applying security patches in a Linux environment
