Job description

The Supplier Quality Engineer will manage and enhance the quality of components and OEM finished goods supplied to our organization. This role requires a proactive individual who can make an immediate impact by leveraging advanced quality management techniques and fostering strong relationships with suppliers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in supplier quality engineering, particularly within the commercial or residential appliance manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans for supplier-related issues involving components and finished goods.
  2. Collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to implement corrective actions effectively.
  3. Manage the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to ensure all supplier submissions meet engineering requirements.
  4. Ensure the safe launch of new supplier parts, products, and processes, addressing any potential risks.
  5. Act as the primary point of contact for end-of-line/receiving inspection/field issues, managing failure analysis and coordinating corrective actions with suppliers.
  6. Provide regular updates on the status of supplier quality concerns and ongoing improvement initiatives.
  7. Establish and monitor supplier performance measures for quality and delivery.
  8. Perform on-site process and quality assessments to verify supplier capabilities meet expectations and requirements.
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement plans focused on supplier component reliability and field performance.


  • Technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or a related field).
  • Proven experience with continuous improvement and quality management tools and methodologies such as 8D, PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP and sampling plans.
  • Experience and good understanding of lean manufacturing with defect free methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of probability and statistical methods related to quality assurance.
  • ASQ certifications (Certified Quality Engineer or Auditor) are highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of ISO / TS quality system standards.
  • Familiarity with commercial or residential appliance manufacturing is preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
