Job description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION As an aircraft electrician, candidate will be responsible to perform, oversee and provide guidance with various types of fabrication and installation of harnesses that control complex components on aircraft, such as engines, propeller systems, and flight control systems. Candidate will support live testing of engines and propellers, flight line servicing, towing, and delivery of aircraft. DUTIES Perform complex assembly and installation of a wide range of aircraft electrical components, to include wire harnesses, connector assemblies, relay panels, circuit breaker panels, line replacement units (LRU) and any other required components per program specifications. Read and interpret service guidance such as job guides or engineering drawings to provide technical input for the developmental process of work instructions and processes as required. Perform fabrication, installation, and troubleshooting of control, power, Video and RF cables. Use both In-Shop and Flight-line test equipment for aircraft testing, support, and servicing. Work as a Team Leader supporting workflow and task assignments when required by supervision. Provide technical direction, training, and guidance to lower-level technicians as necessary. Perform in-process inspections for proper component assembly, installation conformity, and testing acceptance. Perform in-depth Foreign Object & Debris (FOD) inspections or "Clean as you go" as required. Travel may be required, 10%. Other Duties as Assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or graduate equivalency. Associates Degree or Graduate of a technical school is desired. Prior formal training, military or commercial, with ability to provide documented evidence. A&P license preferred. Foreign Object & Debris inspection processes and mitigation. Minimum of seven (7) years of significant experience in installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance/repair of aircraft electrical and avionics systems. Proficiency required in use of multiple types of electrical hand tools, such as crimpers, insertion and de-pinning tools, heat guns, soldering stations, multimeters, and bonding meters. Must be proficient in use of calibrated tooling, measuring tools, and test instruments. Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools. Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales. Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear. Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
